This is an informal and relaxed restaurant in Lisbon. Vaskus is very well known for it’s picanha (famous brasilian meat) and for it’s fondue. Both options are recommended, especially if you ask to drink, “caipirinha” or "caipiroskas" of several fruits(passion fruit, strawberry and others).

Specialties(there are fish and meat specialties, but i recomend meat):
Starters: Mushrooms sauteed with garlic, Vaskus salad, shrimp cocktail, or Prawn "al ajillo".
Fish: Cod cooked with all; Cod fried Narcisa de Braga.
Meat: Grilled Picanha with garlic, Meat Fondues, "Picanha" in Stone; Steak with Pepper; Portuguese Steak; Beef tenderloin with cream and fried mushrooms, fried sirloin steak with pepper.
Sweets: Chocolate mousse, mango mousse, lemon mousse, passion fruit mousse.

Kitchen closes at 1am, which is great for long evenings. The service is good, and the staff is very kind and professional.

It's better call and reserve, specially on Friday or Saturday.

Nights out in Lisboa

Lisbon is one European capital that benefits from one of the greatest assets available to the modern city: its streets may be fully and safely enjoyed after nightfall.


As the heat of the day mellows with the setting sun, the gentler temperature entices us out into the street. For now, the calm of dusk holds sway. But, as night progresses, the pace begins picking up.

The streets of Lisbon are not keen on sleeping. The restaurants, ‘cervejarias’ or beer gardens, bars, café esplanades and discos are all geared for partying.

For anyone wishing to bid the day farewell over an aperitif and a little chat or for those wishing to get into the mood for a night packed with bars and discos, the esplanades are the right place to be. Some can be found tucked away in leafy gardes, as is the case with the Príncipe Real and Jardim da Estrela esplanades. Others open up onto the hills of Lisbon such as the café-viewpoints of Santa Luzia, Santa Catarina and Graça.Alternatively, head down to the river. To the east and to the west, there are esplanades turning their back on the city to look out over the water, taking in the silvery light show provided by the city’s reflection out on the waters. There is all kinds of choice running from the Santo Amaro Docks at one end to the more recent Parque das Nações recreational complex at the other.

A meeting point for all ages, cosmopolitan by their very nature, this is where friends meet up to plan their nights out. As the hour advances, they gradually disperse out to the city’s many bars and discos.

Thus, let us salute the Lisbon nightlife. Charge your glasses. A toast!

Sea Sports in Lisbon

In the immediate vicinity of Lisbon are some of its most popular beaches.

Carcavelos is the first one you’ll find, its waves and sea breezes attracting body boarders, surfers and kite-surfers alike.

Set against the beautiful backdrop of the Sintra and the Cascais Natural Park, is the wind swept beach of Guincho, regularly home to European championship windsurfing and surfing events. For those wishing to test the waters, boards are for hire with lessons also available. Hang-gliding off the cliff face is also popular.

The Sintra coastline has a great deal to offer. There is Praia Grande, another great centre for windsurfing and body boarding, with a track record of hosting world-class events. It also attracts fishermen and gourmets making weekend pilgrimages in search of the freshest fish and shellfish.Make a stop at the impressive Boca do Inferno (Mouth of Hell), with its immense caverns carved by the sea, or visit Cabo da Roca, the most westerly point of mainland Europe.

Following the coast round, you’ll come to Ericeira, in Mafra, a Mecca for Portuguese surfing. Its beaches include surfing favourites such as Praia dos Coxos and Ribeira D’Ilhas, with the latter already well established on the world surfing circuit.

Beyond Ericeira, the beaches keep on coming. Santa Cruz is considered by many to be the jewel of this coastline; while there is also Praia d’el Rei and Areia Branca, the latter popular with divers and water sports enthusiasts.

Finally, we come to the Óbidos Lagoon, noted for its clear waters and year round sunshine.

Sintra, just a short hop from Lisbon, has a longstanding tradition in the sweets and desserts it produces.

Where the historical and cultural heritage form a perfect match to the leafy greenery of the hills, a particular beauty that has gained Sintra World Heritage status. Thus, it is a major stop on national tourist itineraries with its traditional pastries in equal demand. Piriquita, in the town centre, makes its own delicious ‘travesseiros’, puff pastry filled with egg and almond. And the ‘queijadas de Sintra’, made from fresh cheese, egg and cinnamon, began life at the Queijadas da Sapa Bakery by the town entrance, even if they are now produced elsewhere.

And in the vicinity of Sintra, there are other cakes with equal fame and tradition, the delicious ‘fofos de Belas’, for example. And before these rich sweets, ideal for desserts, the region has another speciality worth consideration, Negrais suckling pig, tender but with crackling skin.

And match that delicacy to one of the finest red wines of Portugal, Colares, still grown here even while vineyards are under threat from urban expansion. And the region’s coastline ensures it gets a ready supply of excellent fish and shellfish. A grilled fish becomes the best of fare when served with a bottle of chilled white wine in the terrace sunshine, with the sea beyond.

Lisbon will celebrate the International day of the museum from May 15-18 with a Night at the Museums program. The following Museums will open their doors to the city: Bordalo Pinheiro Museum, Museum of Fado, Marionette Museum , city Museum, and eh Roman theatre Museum. On the 15th the Marionette Museum and the Fado Museum will be open until midnight free after 7 p.m. The Fado museum will have musical tours with various fadistas. The Roman Theatre museum will offer readings of classical literature. On the 16 and 18th will see free admission at the museums as well.

Mercado Mundo Mix is a multicultural event, which concentrates emerging talents from several areas - culture, fashion, music, arts and multimedia - and enables the participating talents to showcase, divulgue, and market their creations.
It is an alternative world and meeting point which already received more than 2 million visitors, eager for new experiences and to discover the most recent tendencies. Mercado Mundo Mix originated 16 years ago in Brazil where it became a hallmark of Brazilian cultural scene. It is in Portugal since 2003, where several editions have already been organized in Lisbon, Oporto, Coimbra, Cascais, Estoril, Langos and Faro, having now reached 24th edition.
